Steve Birchfield
Steve Birchfield is a technology professional with over 23 years of experience in computers and networking. Since Steve was a kid he has always been fascinated with technology and started working professionally in the field at age 17. Steve had his first cell phone in 1994 and has carried one with him throughout the years. Bag phones, StarTec’s, Blackberry’s and Windows Mobile devices have all passed through his hands at one point and time. However, his love of Android came when he bought a G1 and saw the potential of Android. Steve upgraded to a My Touch 3G Fender Edition the day it was released and quickly started rooting and putting roms on his phone. It became an addiction that he still enjoys today. Currently, Steve has a Samsung Vibrant, A Galaxy Tab 7″ and a Galaxy Nexus. Thought the Nexus is still unrooted, the Vibrant has seen almost every rom put out for that phone.
In talking to his friends Steve saw that there was a need to tell people about useful Android apps for those just starting out with their first Android phones. Out of this idea emerged The Android App Geek, his site for reviews and recommendations. Steve posts reviews of apps that beginners and Android experts alike will find helpful. Seeing how The Android Activist website and their writers believe in the Android platform, Steve decided to try and join The Android Activist as a writer to combine his passion to talk about Android and help others see why the Android OS is such a great platform. Steve has been a guest on The Android Vibe talking about Android and truly enjoys telling others about OS and devices that he likes.
Aside from technology Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and three teenage boys in Lakeland, FL watching movies, going to car shows, playing paintball and being involved in his local church.
