Ed Waters
Ed Waters’ interest in computers and technology started at the ripe age of 15 when he received a Commodore 64 for Christmas. The Commodore 64 led him down the road of software hacking and eventually running his own BBS (Bulletin Board System). This experience would stick with Ed and lay the groundwork for his enthusiasm in the Android OS.
Ed’s first android device was an LG Ally. While not the most powerful Android, he quickly found out that by rooting and flashing custom ROMs and kernels, the LG Ally could be pushed to the limits and made to be the quick little phone it should always have been. It was through the Ally community, that Ed started beta testing ROMS for Punisher/Frunisher ROM Development Team.
His current phone is an HTC Thunderbolt which he has had since May.
Ed Waters quickly found out that the Android community was full of folks who were not afraid to help each other out. No matter what your issue is, you can usually find a solution quickly on an Android website, blog or forum. This sense of community is what really cemented Ed’s fondness of everything Android.
After reading articles on Android websites and blogs, on a daily basis, Ed started to get the writing bug. In the not so distant past, Ed spent several years working for the NJ State Senate, rising to the position of Deputy Director of Communications for the Minority Office. In this position, he spent his days writing press releases, press statements and position papers. This is where Ed developed his passion for writing.
When he is not on his Thunderbolt, Ed Waters works as a Government Affairs Professional and spends his spare time with his wife and two children.
Ed is also an avid science fiction fan. He enjoys spending time watching everything Planet of the Apes, Doctor Who (original and new series), Battlestar Galactica (original and new series),Babylon5, Star Trek (all series except DS9) and Star Wars.
