This write-up is mainly for those of you new to Android and the mobile trade shows. With MWC right around the corner, I just wanted to do a quick post to give you a heads up about next week’s event. Mobile World Congress (MWC) is an international trade show where most manufacturers bring out the “big guns” and tease consumers with “coming soon” devices. Android usually has a pretty big showing. Andrew from
Androinica.com did a really good wrap up from last year’s MWC if you want to get an idea of the types of announcements that are made. This year I think we’ll see some of the major names in Android making their normal announcements, but I’m looking forward to the announcements coming from the smaller and newer Android adopters. These shows remind me of a tourist destination. On the main drag, you see the things you expect to see, but if you cut down a side street or two you may find a gem that most aren’t aware of. I won’t be there myself, but any of you in or around the Barcelona, Spain area should definitely try to go and have a look around. I’m looking forward to the flood of information from the tech community about the next and newest device. I also would like to give you new Android users a warning, that your social feeds will be inundated with reviews, previews, and first-looks within the next few days. Be sure your battery is charged and sit back and enjoy the show. If any of you are going to MWC feel free to drop us a line and let us know.
