Has The Nexus Name Been Soiled?

Print Friendly

So the Verizon Galaxy Nexus came out  last week, thisweek., has finally been launched. So what do you think about that? “The Google store model of selling phones sucks!” Are you happy about the Verizon store model of selling the Nexus? I’m just curious. You can go into a brick and mortar store and hold the phone, and play with it…..oh wait….no you can’t. Verizon has had their paws all over this and I’m just curious to know how much it has hurt the Nexus name?

I’m hearing a lot of outcry from people about how the Galaxy Nexus is losing it’s appeal (me included). What I’m really curious to know is how much of a hit will Verizon take on its botched launch of this phone? I have an eerie feeling when people look back at this fiasco, most people will be more apt to criticize the phone rather than the company that held it up.

Going forward, I hope Google finds a better way to launch and distribute its flagship phones out to the masses. We’ve tried the internet only model and it seems like the store only model isn’t working out that well either. Hopefully, Mountainview  will find a way to get this right for the future. It seems like with every Nexus launch, a little piece of me goes away. I really want these phones to be successful, but it seems to never fail that something will detract from the overall greatness that is a Nexus phone.

With this most recent launch debacle, should Google be concerned about the Nexus branding, or shall this too come to pass? I guess only time will tell. Speaking of time….Verizon customers, you still have some to wait before getting your hands on this latest Nexus phone. What are you thoughts about it? Does it matter that the phone still hasn’t released? Are you frustrated? Are you just waiting patiently and it doesn’t matter when the phone actually launches, just that it does? Take care.
