Notorious “do it yourself” site HackNMod.com has issued a challenge: Get Android running on an HP Touchpad, and you win cash (currently sitting at $2340). Despite challenges and drama regarding this task over the last few days, one developer has shown exactly what the Android community needs more of: selflessness.
Keyan Mobli (aka KMOBS, one of the lead developers of CyanogenMod) issued a statement yesterday on his Google Plus account that summed it up very nicely:

Way to go, guys. Thanks for providing selfless leadership in our community… you are all first class in my opinion.

Scotty Brown has been involved with Android since receiving his first device (a T-Mobile G1) as a gift from The Best Girlfriend In The World on Valentines Day 2009. Scotty began his Android blogging at AndroidGuys, and quickly launched the Android Guys Thursday Nights podcast. After a few months he eventually began his own project and started RadioAndroid, the first and only all Android broadcast site. RadioAndroid continued to incorporate editorials, reviews, and community generated content. Eventually, Scotty chose to spin the blog portion of RadioAndroid off to it’s own branding and created AndroidActivist. By combining his advocacy for all things Android and his talent for the spoken word, Scotty has often been cited as the “Voice of the Android Community”. Scotty combines humor, honesty, and a touch of rabid fanboy-ism to create a unique reading and listening experience. He has been increasingly more involved in the community, eventually taking a role as an “Android Activist” and acting as an advocate for galvanization of the Android community.

Please don't give me any credit for this decision. I do absolutely 0 work on the touchpad and none of the money would have been earmarked for me anyway. The actual devs who work on the touchpad agreed with my suggestion of donating it to charity.
