Are you passionate about the Android platform? Are you opinionated and enjoy writing? Then join Android Activist. We don’t report the news, we comment on it. Android Activist is looking for a couple of people to round out our writing staff.

Android Activist is not a news reporting website. We do not repost news clips, press releases or industry announcements. There are several long established Android reporting websites that do this quite well and have all the industry contacts to make them the CNN and Fox News of the Android world.

What makes Android Activist different is we provide opinions and commentary on the Android eco-system. Written pieces are typically centered around the opinion of the writer and how the topic directly affects them. By the community. For the community.

Our contributors are not paid. You will receive no compensation in the form of anything. We have ZERO advertising on our website and are not supported by advertisers in any way. We want people who are passionate about the Android platform only.

If you want to join Android Activist thinking you will have access to the latest just released hot device… you are mistaken. You will have to make industry contacts yourself or stand in line on release day like many of us do. Because of this, we offer a diverse and untainted lens in which to look at the Android eco-system through.

In addition to authoring opinion pieces, the other thing we like to do is review applications. Due to our unique structure, we receive an overwhelming number of developers that ask us to review their apps for them. Not all reviews turn out in the favor of the application developers. On occasion the developers have taken the criticism to heart and made the suggested improvements. Alternately, we’ve been told to piss off. The reviews that do favor the developers are truly unbiased and come from the pure recommendation of the reviewer.

Requirements:

• 18 years of age (exceptions can be made on a case by case basis).
• You contribute at least two written pieces a week containing around 300-500 words.
• You have a Twitter account.
• You can write using word processing software similar to Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Writer. Why? Unless you are an English major, please use the grammar and spell checker.

We have an editorial process. Every submission gets reviewed. Sometimes briefly. Sometimes in depth. Keep in mind that Android Activist is a community driven uncompensated website. This includes our editing staff as well.

What you get: exposure, fun, as many apps as you’d like to review, and sometimes access to Android events that we can get you into based upon being affiliated with us.
